Richard Sharp’s paintings depict the fragility of the landscape of The Burren where he has a farm, near Ballyvaughan. His nautical prints and paintings have been influenced by the seascapes of the Orkney Islands, Shetlands and the Hebrides, but currently the coast of West Clare beside Quilty.

He endeavours to paint outside, often ducking between wind and showers, but often has to retreat to his cow shed or borrowed houses to complete work in acrylics oils or inks on any surface at hand;
